Laundry Tips

To get out those nasty yellow stains from sweat in your shirts, rub with baking soda.  Then spray on some oven cleaner and let sit for a few hours before you wash it.  Be extremely careful when using the oven cleaner!

To keep away those yellow arm pit stains, try air drying your white shirts on  the line.  The sun has a natural bleaching action, but it's the heat from the dryer that really "sets" that stain.

Don't buy all those expensive stain removers, try Goop hand cleaner.  It's got out just about every single one of my stains!

To get out blood stains - dab on hydrogen peroxide until the stain disappears.

For many stains, try using a bar of Ivory soap and a toothbrush.

Try Prell shampoo for many grease-based stains.  This stuff is so strong it removed the grease from my white carpeting!

Make your own fabric softener and save $$.   Mix up 1 part concentrated fabric softener and 4 parts water.  Pour into a spray bottle and lightly spray clothes out of the washing machine just before they go in the dryer.  Saves tons of money and even gets rid of static!

If the stain is oil based - try using a shampoo for oily hair or for dandruff since these shampoos are commonly used to remove oils.

If the stain is dye based - trying using some shaving cream to get it out!
